Old Chicago in DOWNTOWN - get it while you can
Oops, ignore previous post. I'm going to default to Nancy Ngo on this one. Chances are her sources are better.
Random: I knew a guy who was shot at the Old Chicago in downtown Mpls. He was... odd. I don't think that had anything to do with anything. But that's the most interesting story I have related to the Downtown Old Chicago.

The Uptown OC is not closing. Only the Downtown location will be shutting down.
And my "interesting" I mean "boring."
Additional 134 Twin Cities bars and restaurants which have closed since the smoking bans.
135 closed bars
135 closed bars
Can we get a "list of parking tickets incurred in the Twin Cities since the smoking ban" as well? Because the reasons for those will be just as relivent as this list of restaurants. Logical fallacies crack me up.
Ad Hoc Ergo Properter Hoc.
Nice site joy, keep, uh, eating.
Only 14 closed in 2004, the last year without a ban.
24 months after the smoking bans 138 have closed. Enlighten us David what else changed that would have caused five times more hospitality establishments to close.
Marcus, How about all the same reasons restaurants opened and closed before the smoking ban. Poor management, market changes and crappy food. Consider yourself enlightened.
You do realize a sizeable portion of the restaurants you list either never allowed smoking or existed entirely during the time of the MPLS smoking ban...right? Willies, Bobino, Mojito, Katsu, Dixies, Zeno, LeVain, Five, Auriga, A Rebours...good lord man, you have logic errors WITHIN your logic errors. "Hey, see that barrel of fish over there? Here's a gun."
Update: MN bar and restaurant closings since the bans are now up to 198+
